While U.S. church goers wear orange group of Muslim’s tossed 12 Christians overboard during a recent crossing from Libya. Italian police arrested 15 people for the murder aggravated by religious hatred in the high seas assault.
The survivors said they had boarded the small boat April 14 along the Libyan coast with 105 passengers aboard. During the crossing, the Christians from Nigeria and Ghana were threatened by 15 other passengers from the Ivory Coast, Senegal, Mali and Guinea Bissau.
Eventually the threat was carried out and the 12 were pushed overboard.
Survivors said the motive was that the victims “professed the Christian faith while the aggressors were Muslim.” The survivors said to stay on board they formed a “human chain” to resist the assault.
Meanwhile, it’s been learned that ISIL jihadist recently beheaded captive Ethiopian Christians on a beach along Libya’s coast. It mirrors a video released in February showing the beheading 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians on a Libyan beach.
The victims are referred to in a subtitle as “worshippers of the cross belonging to the hostile Ethiopian church.”
Ethiopia is a predominantly Christian country with the religion being introduced in the country the 4th century, making it one of the oldest Christian states in the world. The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church is one of the oldest organized Christian bodies in the world, and more than 40 percent of the population is members of the church.
The video also shows a man dressed in black clutching a pistol stood behind some of the victims. Speaking to the camera, he says: “Muslim blood shed under the hands of your religions is not cheap. To the nation of the cross: We are now back again.”
The video concludes with a warning that Christians won’t be safe unless they embrace Islam or pay protection money. Under Islam’s sharia law dhimmi status is granted to Jews and Christians, who opt not to convert to Islam or die.
It allows them to practice their religion but with restrictions designed to humiliate them into recognizing the ‘superiority’ of Muslims, and in paying a special tax to known as “jizya.” ISIL claims its tax amounts to four grams of gold for the rich, two grams for ‘average’ people and a gram for the poor.
Meanwhile, religious organizations across the U.S. are urging their followers to wear the color orange to bring attention to the plight of those dying for their faith. Maybe it’ll work as well as the hash-tag campaign ‘bring back our girls,’ did for Nigeria.
